The following situations will result in longer waits for your refund: 1) Your return contains certain credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). 2) Your return is paper-filed/mailed or you did not request direct deposit. 3) There were problems with your return, such as incorrect data, incorrect Social Security or other numbers. 4) You already owed other back taxes, child-support or delinquent student loans. 5) Your return is an amended return.
